SNOW for the 2008 MLK Holiday Weekend

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Keep and eye out for likely FCPS and LCPS school closings, and don’t forget the kids are already scheduled off this coming Monday for the “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” Holiday.

Holiday weekend fast approaching but is the weekday slush going to damper Ashburn residents fun? Bundle up, Loudoun! Here’s the snow shovel “scoop” hazardous weather conditions advisory report.

With fairly heavy snow accumulations on the way, hands and highways can get very icy–quick. Salt trucks are poised and ready to clear our roads in Brambleton, along Loudoun County Parkway, and will be full on to keep the Dulles Greenway Toll Road, Route 7, 28, and Route 50 clear for residents to get out and come back in, but be careful out there and stay home if you can.

The weather looks much better after Thursday, Friday, and Saturday clear, so stay warm and positive; Sunday and Monday potential sunny sunshine promises to give celebrations for Dr. King’s birthday one more reason to cheer! Tuesday, however, is a different story.
