How far IS the INOVA Hospital?

Friday, February 8, 2008

Well, that depends. INOVA Hospital, completed in 2005, is conveniently located in Lansdowne (between Ashburn and Leesburg off Route 7). Technically speaking, here is the physical address information that will allow you to program your NAV with GPS Information:

Wherever you are coming from, you’ll probably have great access roads that lead you right in; regardless of what direction I’ve driven from when coming to it, the longest it has taken was 25 minutes (not a bad commute time) .

When you come from the Dulles Town Center on Route 7 you’ll make a right at Belmont Ridge Road. If you are coming from Ashburn Village, take Waxpool to a right at Belmont Ridge and cross straight over Route 7 or head out Ashburn Village Parkway towards Ashburn Commons, then hang a right where it joins Route 7. Belmont County Club residents can head out Claiborne Parkway or Belmont Ridge Road–Broadlands, too, via several of the main exit roads. Brambletonians have their pick of heading over to seven via Loudoun County Parkway, soon to be shared Parkway space with South Riding Residents or by taking Belmont Ridge Road around past their local high school Brian Woods (just a tight curve and then head on down the road).

Honestly, the most difficult part of getting to our great INOVA hospital for in-patient or out-patient care is watching for deer along the roads. Be careful, folks, and slow down at night.  The deer head out to feed at dusk and with so many deer along our roads, it’s safe to speculate they have sent a few people to the hospital with wrecked cars and sore or broken bones.
