Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine as Alternative Healthcare

Modern living places a variety of stresses on our bodies that can result in physical discomfort. We specialize in achieving natural, healthy relief from pain and discomfort using a variety of Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques, such as Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Therapy.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, physical problems result from blockages in the flow of energy or “Qi” in the body. We use special techniques to release these blockages, helping eliminate the causes of pain and discomfort.

The goal of acupuncture is to coax the body into healing itself by adjusting the flow of energy
in the body. The benefit of this is that there are little to no side effects after the treatments
because the body is working to find a balance in itself.

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine can be extremely valuable in treating acute as well
as chronic conditions (from acute physical trauma, a cold, the flu, chronic fatigue,
to fibromyalgia and IBS, just to name a few). See the Services Section for a more complete
list of issues treated!

For more acute conditions, acupuncture can alleviate the disorder within several treatments.
In more chronic cases it can take months of treatment, it really depends of the severity of the disorder and how long a person has had the problem, each individual is unique. Generally, the goal of treatment is to eventually reach a point where the length of time between treatments is longer and longer and then finally on an as needed basis.

It is important to remember acupuncture and Chinese herbs are cumulative types of treatment, each treatment building upon the last. Therefore, in the beginning it may be necessary to have treatments spaced more closely together. It will also be critical in the beginning for a patient not to miss treatments.
